Our rescue has served many, many chinchillas and their people for more than 13 years. During that time we have gained much knowledge about chinchillas and how to keep them healthy and happy.
www.ChinchillaRescueGA.com is set up so you can benefit from what we’ve learned about chinchilla care over the years. The information on this site is our personal opinion based on experiences we’ve had. There is lots of conflicting information out there concerning proper feeding, housing, etc. and our aim is to let you know what has worked best for us. (Always use your judgment when perusing websites, many writers only have a basic knowledge of chinchillas and some have never kept them as pets, relying on what others have said to construct their care information.) We had pet chinchillas before we started the rescue. If you have a question about something that is not addressed in these pages, please feel free to use the ‘contact us’ link and we will answer your question.
We are accepting chinchillas into our rescue on a case-by-case basis. Top priority will be given to an animal shelter, a veterinary clinic, or a research laboratory that needs assistance. Email with details about your situation. Please include the city and state where you are located in your email. When you are ready to surrender your chinchilla(s) email using the “contact us” link with the chinchilla’s name, gender, age, health status, and history.
Chinchillas are available for adoption at this time. All potential adoptive parents must go through our approval process. Use the ‘contact us’ link to inquire about available chinchillas.
